
J. J. Savaunt is an NC native and graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, spent time abroad in Costa Rica and is currently serving in the United States Army stationed in Germany.
Savaunt writes crime fiction, pushing boundaries and emphasizing inclusion of black narratives into the worlds of Speculative Fiction and Fantasy.
She is an author on the International Mobile app platform Microstory based in France. She is an Honor Book Recipient from the Black Caucus American Library Association for Best Poetry. She has received national coverage having been published in NY Weekly, American Reporter and Kivo Daily. Savaunt is a member of the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors.
These days she spends her time reeling over making a part two for Barren, her current work in progress. Then again, she spends a great deal of time procrastinating, so we’ll see.
